meet busted blues
In early 2011, Josh Walther and Will Scecina joined forces to put together an acoustic duo. They called themselves Busted Blues and quickly became a well known act in the Tampa Bay area. After almost a year of playing as a duo, they invited Stephen Dornfeld to play piano with them at a show. The result was spectacular and they quickly offered Dornfeld a permanent spot in the group. Audiences and critics agree that Busted Blues's acoustic sound featuring guitar, piano and vocals is exceptional.
Will was born and raised in Cold Springs, New York, a small town located just north of New York City. After graduating high school Will made his way to the Big Apple in an effort to expand his knowledge of music. He soon enrolled in Hunter College of The City University of New York. It was here that Will developed an appreciation for a variety of genres, including Americana, folk, Delta Blues, R&B and jazz. In addition to phase5 and Busted Blues, Will can also be found playing with The Excitables and The Will Scecina Group.
After earning a Bachelor of Music Jazz Studies degree from the University of North Florida, Stephen continued his education and obtained a Master of Music in Performance in Jazz Studios from Florida State University. While he enjoys musical styles ranging from R&B to classical, he is also a lover of both jazz fusion and the unique jazz style known as hard bop. Stephen's talents can be heard accompanying numerous artists across the Sunshine State.
Josh grew up on the beaches of Pensacola, FL. He brings years of recording and performance experience to the band. Josh was the lead singer of the band McAlyster on MCA Nashville Records. The band reached #1 on Billboard Magazines single sales chart with the song "I Know How The River Feels." The music video for the single was seen on CMT, GAC, VH1 and the Disney Channel. Josh has worked as a lead vocalist for Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Dollywood. He was also named "2011 Entertainer of the Year" by Event Solutions Magazine.
Samantha is from Cleveland, OH and began her professional singing career more than seven years ago. Samantha has worked as a lead vocalist for Busch Gardens, as well as some of the hottest bands in the Tampa Bay area. In 2009, Samantha beat out over 10,000 contestants when she was named Fox News Tampa Bay Idol. She has been seen performing on CBS's local morning show, Studio 10, and has had the honor of singing the National Anthem for the likes of the Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees.
